Literature, Poetry & Culture

Literature is the art of written work and can, in some circumstances, refer exclusively to published sources. Literature is commonly classified as having two major forms fiction and non-fiction and two major techniques poetry and prose. The Literature society exists in the school to provide avenues for children to explore their interests in writing and engaging themselves in hobbies such as penning poems!

This society started in a small measure by enrolling children as members of the magazine club that is “THE RADIANT EXPRESSIONS” which is in itself now named “TEJAS”. Through this activity children were slowly engaged in reading reports of various studies conducted all over the world and involving themselves in bringing out their school magazine as magazine club members. The students were exposed to the various processes like collecting information, editing, proof reading and finally making material that is Print Ready. The students benefited from the magazines subscribed by the school which helped them to participate in various literary competitions like elocution, essay writing , one Nation-One reading programme ,slogan writing, poetry writing etc.

Culture is a word for people’s ‘way of life’, meaning the way they do things. Different groups of people may have different cultures. A culture is passed on to the next generation by learning, whereas genetics are passed on by heredity. Culture is seen in people’s writing, relegion, music, clothes, cooking, and in what they do. We have the cultural activities session for all students once a week in which children are exposed to the various cultures that abound our rich Nation through participation in drama, role-play, story sessions, activities etc. Important national days and festivals of all religions are celebrated by the students in order to create a feeling and awareness that we are one and our CULTURE stands for UNITY IN DIVERSITY.
