This year it has rained very well in Parli, just like the last three years. An area that used to have six droughts in eight years is suddenly seeing such good monsoons. Is it because of the lakhs of trees that we have planted in the area, or is it just a coincidence?

Every year, the water in various rivers in Parli used to flow away into the Godavari river, leaving the entire area dry after the monsoon. To capture as much of the water as we could, we implemented a unique model, which we call the Global River Aquashaft (GRA), that increased the water table level from a depth of 400-600 feet to a depth of just 60-70 feet. Lakes, wells, and bores across a large area were full even last summer. This also reduced the salinity, or TDS, in the water, making it more suitable for agriculture and drinking.

We intend to try this GRA in Kachch next summer, hoping for similar results. As per our expert geologist, this model can be used almost anywhere in the nation, solving the perennial water problems of the country.
