Ankur Thodkar / Cow Dung Based Organic Fertilizer

Ankur Thodkar from Kumbefal, Ambajogai, had dreamed of becoming a civil servant, but destiny had other plans for him. Af ter several unsuccessf ul attempts to clear the UPSC examinations, Ankur returned to his village in Beed, and started working on innovative ways to start his own horticulture farm.

Fascinated by organic farming, he decided to make his own fertilizer, decomposer, micronutrients, insect trap, and pesticides, and started beekeeping too. To help pollinate his flowers, he used a combination of buttermilk and jaggery to attract bees to his plants. We hope that Ankur's innovative methods encourage more farmers to follow in his footsteps!
